Field Sales Engineer – Power Electronics

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of an established technology manufacturer operating in the semiconductor and electronics industry. This field-based role is focused exclusively on the Detroit, Michigan area and supports key regional customer accounts. The position combines technical sales responsibility, account development, and close collaboration with internal engineering and product teams, while working independently from a home or field office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive design-in activity and secure new business wins within assigned customer accounts in the Detroit region

  • Consistently achieve assigned revenue and growth objectives

  • Coordinate and support external sales partners, including manufacturer representatives and distribution channels

  • Work closely with internal engineering and product teams to align customer requirements with technical solutions

  • Monitor market trends, customer strategies, and competitive activity to inform account planning

  • Build and expand relationships with design engineers, technical teams, and management-level stakeholders

  • Communicate forecasts, account performance, and strategic updates to internal leadership

  • Deliver technical and commercial presentations to customer and internal audiences

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline; electrical engineering or a closely related field preferred
  • Experience in technical sales, field applications engineering, or customer-facing engineering roles

  • Background in electronics, semiconductors, or power-related technologies

  • Ability to understand and position a diverse technical product portfolio

  • Experience working with channel partners or indirect sales organizations

  • Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills

  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a field-based role
