Senior Field Application Engineer

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of an established technology organization that supports customers developing advanced electronic and embedded system solutions. This role serves as a senior technical resource, partnering closely with sales and internal teams to help customers successfully design, integrate, and deploy complex hardware and software solutions. The position is field-based within the Dallas–Fort Worth area and includes periodic travel to customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with sales teams to provide advanced technical consultation, identify customer requirements, and recommend appropriate solutions

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers during system design, integration, and optimization phases

  • Deliver technical training to customers and internal stakeholders, including developing or adapting training materials as needed

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical questions related to hardware, software, and system-level integration

  • Review customer schematics, designs, and technical documentation, and provide guidance on improvements or changes

  • Communicate customer feedback, feature requests, and use cases to internal engineering, product, and marketing teams

  • Maintain deep knowledge of relevant products, technologies, and industry trends to support customer applications effectively

  • Create clear technical documentation and written responses to support customer inquiries

  • Act as a technical resource for cross-functional internal teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered

  • 8+ years of experience in field application engineering or a closely related technical role

  • Experience working within a matrixed organization

  • Background in hardware, systems, or software engineering, including embedded systems with digital and analog circuits

  • Working knowledge of RF and hardware design, including the ability to review and interpret schematics

  • Proficiency in C/C++ for modifying and adapting example code to customer use cases

  • Prior experience in a customer-facing or technical sales–support role

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to varied audiences
